I feel an overwhelming sense of peace at the beach. Watching the waves, breathing the fresh ocean air, listening to the sound of the water as I dig my feet into the sand. As I look out on the vast ocean that seems to have no end, with the sunlight dancing on its surface, the sky and clouds above forming the perfect scene…my mind is in awe of God’s creation! I recall the details in Genesis of the earth being void and how God separated, placed, and named the heavens, earth, and sea. The words of the poem “Footprints” always comes to mind, reminding me that in those times when I can’t trace my steps, God is carrying me.

 I believe that God’s Spirit still “hovers over the water” as the NIV bible states in Genesis 1:2. The water is where I feel God’s presence the most, and receive the peace and tranquillity that resides in His presence…..
